Abstract
This article discusses the potential benefits of trans-nasal endoscopy (TNE) as an alternative to oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (OGD) for upper gastrointestinal investigations. The study compared the qualitative and quantitative outcomes of un-sedated OGD and TNE procedures. The results showed that TNE was better tolerated by patients and led to higher overall satisfaction. It was also found that TNE did not compromise diagnostic capability and resulted in shorter times on management pathways. The study suggests that TNE could be considered as an alternative to OGD in the national endoscopy service recovery post-pandemic. [Extracted from the article]
