Abstract
The pancreas is formed by the union of the ventral and dorsal pancreatic buds, after a complex process in which are involved neighbor anatomical elements like the duodenal loop, the hepatocystic bud and ventral-dorsal mesentery. Ventral and dorsal pancreatic excretory ducts usually form the Santorini accessory duct which drains only the upper part of the head. The main pancreatic duct of Wirsung drains the rest of the pancreas. Beside this normal aspect of the ducts they may have different trajectories or they can anastomose one to each other. The pancreatic ducts can have multiple courses varying from complete to incomplete pancreas division. One of this variant led a young patient to a chronic pancreatic pathology. We investigated the patient with CT andcholangio-MRI and surgically extracted a bulky calculus located at the intersection of the main and accessory pancreatic ducts which were presenting a special configuration.
