Abstract
The article discusses that the plant domestication and crop improvement have resulted in reduced genetic diversity in most of cultivated crops, and limiting their potential to adapt to future challenges. It mentions that the aim is to build capacities in developing countries in order to use this diversity where it is needed most; and the project focused its pre-breeding efforts on crops important for food security.
