Abstract
This document is a correction notice for an article titled "Clinical epidemiology and outcomes of community acquired infection and sepsis among hospitalized patients in a resource limited setting in Northeast Thailand: A prospective observational study (Ubon-sepsis)." The correction addresses errors in the classification of patients with sepsis and the blood culture positivity reported in the article. The correct numbers are provided, and the changes impact the manuscript, tables, figures, and supporting information. The authors have provided corrected versions of the affected sections. The study analyzed 4,989 patients and found that 12.6% of them had pathogenic organisms. Gram-negative bacteria were the most common, with Escherichia coli and Burkholderia pseudomallei being the most prevalent. Gram-positive bacteria and fungi were also identified. Patients with organ dysfunction had higher mortality rates and longer hospital stays compared to those without organ dysfunction. Factors associated with higher mortality included older age, transfer from another hospital, and comorbidities such as liver disease and malignancy. This information can be useful for researchers and healthcare professionals studying and treating infections in resource-limited settings. [Extracted from the article]
