Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the occurrence and pathology of various pathological conditions of small intestine in cattle from the different geographical regions of Rajasthan. A total number of 518 samples of small intestine were examined from carcasses of cattle, irrespective of age, sex and breeds. Out of these 151 samples showing gross lesions were collected and tissue sections from these were subjected to histopathological examination. This paper describes two cases of indigestible foreign bodies obstruction observed in small intestine of cattle during this study. The gross changes were dark bluish-red discolouration of intestinal wall and lodgment of intraluminal foreign bodies while microscopically, revealed congestion, pressure necrosis, venous stasis of mucosa and submucosa of intestine.
