Abstract
This article discusses the impact of comorbidities on the achievement of therapeutic goals in biologic-treated asthma patients. The use of biologics has been effective in managing severe asthma, but only a minority of patients achieve a "complete response." Comorbidities, which are common in patients with severe asthma, can interfere with treatment outcomes. The study analyzed data from 438 patients and found that comorbidities such as obesity, anxiety, and depression were associated with a higher likelihood of uncontrolled symptoms. The study suggests that clinicians should consider these factors when determining the feasibility of a biologic response in patients with severe asthma. [Extracted from the article]
