Abstract
The article reports on Charlie Vandergaw and his closeness with bears. Vandergaw is a retired science teacher who spend half of each year in the wilds of Anchorage in Alaska and let bears wander in his cabin and allows them to eat in his kitchen. He states that getting along with bears is spending time with them.
