Abstract
The article reports on the Preliminary Annual Unified Crime Report released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) which reveals the decreased crime rate in cities across the U.S. Sociology professor Robert Nash Parker explains that the decline is due to the decreased number of people who are shopping and increased police availability. He warns that crime could tend upward if unemployment will continue to rise. Information on Presley Center's crime prevention initiatives is also offered.
