Abstract
The article describes a case of acute renal failure in a man with diabetes. The patient presented with severe abdominal pain and type 1 diabetes. The closest differential diagnosis for him is intrinsic renal disease causing acute kidney injury (AKI). The initial management of the patient starts with discontinuance of all drugs that possibly harm his kidneys and using non-nephrotoxic analgesia. The diagnosis of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) positive vasculitis (APV) is discussed.
