Abstract
The authors explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on student nurses in Great Britain. Topics discussed include the postponements of the clinical placements of the most junior nursing students due to an imminent shortage of supervisory staff and rapid changes within the clinical environment, the remuneration given to student nurses who opted to undertake extended placements, and the importance of professional identity for nurses.
