Abstract
The article discusses the findings of a study to test the social-cognitive model of parents who participate in an exercise program over a 12-month period. It proposes the direct and indirect relationship of barriers self-efficacy to exercise through perceived barriers and prioritization/planning. The results suggest several ways to help parents increase their commitment to physical exercise including reducing perceptions of barriers and making specific plans and schedules to exercise.
