Abstract
The article presents a prospective observational cohort study of 90-day functional outcomes for convulsive status epilepticus in 18 intensive care units in 2005-2007. The primary outcome measure was a score of five on a Glasgow Outcome Scale on the 90th day. Results indicated that after 90 days, 50 percent of the survivors has serious functional impairments. These included cerebral insult, longer duration of seizure, and refractory convulsive status epilepticus.
