Abstract
The article presents a message from the French National Committee of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions World Library and Information Congress 2014 to be held in Lyon, France. Topics discussed include the cultural heritage of the host city and the innovations undertaken by French libraries and documentation institutions. The participation of the French government in library development and the selection of the congress theme are also mentioned.
