Abstract
In the article, the authors discuss the seven important instruments used in research on children and adolescents in South Africa in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Other topics include the best practices in protecting the personal data of adolescents, children and young adults, the POPIA Research Code of Conduct, and the instruments like ethical approval, informed consent, and data sharing agreements.
