Abstract
Part of fraction 5 (52.1 g) was subjected to silica gel chromatography by eluting with CH SB 2 sb Cl SB 2 sb -MeOH (20:1), enriched with MeOH to furnish five further fractions (5-1-5-5). Part of fraction 4 (42.8 g) was subjected to silica gel chromatography by eluting with CH SB 2 sb Cl SB 2 sb -MeOH (50:1), enriched with MeOH to furnish three further fractions (4-1-4-3). Fraction 5-1 (11.5 g) was further purified on a silica gel column using CH SB 2 sb Cl SB 2 sb -MeOH mixtures to obtain kaemperol-3 I O i -methyl ether ( B 11 b ) (13 mg). Fraction 2-3 (22.7 g) was further purified on a silica gel column using CH SB 2 sb Cl SB 2 sb -MeOH (80:1) mixtures to obtain 4-gingerol ( B 3 b ) (37 mg) and 6-gingerol ( B 4 b ) (64 mg).
