Abstract
Beside clinical evaluation, markers of treatment response in anti-HMGCR myopathy, which could be useful to decide whether continuing or stopping immunosuppressants and to predict treatment response in refractory patients, are still lacking. Muscle ultrasound represents an ideal marker for treatment response as it allows a non-invasive, radiation-free point-of-care neuromuscular imaging and it can also be used for identification of physiologic parameters such as pennation angle, a promising marker of muscle integrity. Dear Editor, Inflammatory myopathies (IIMs) represent a diagnostic challenge leading to frequent misdiagnosis and to unproper treatments. [Extracted from the article]
