Abstract
The article discusses that approximately 8 million health care workers have the potential for exposure to drugs that may be hazardous to health through the preparation of anticancer regimens in the U.S. It mentions hazardous drugs are defined by their association with genotoxicity, carcinogenicity, teratogenicity, fertility impairment and serious organ toxicity at low doses; and also mentions safety standards have been developed within the U.S. and internationally for health care providers.
