Abstract
The article discusses the author's views on the lack of safety awareness in the synthetic organic chemistry community. He cites the study by H. Zhang and colleagues which explains the responsibility of chemists in mitigating potential risk especially in aminotriazole synthesis for applications in herbicides, anti-inflammatory agents, and anti-cancer therapies. The author hopes that safe synthesis of aminotriazole compounds can be applied in the medicinal chemistry development at Genentech Inc.
