Abstract
In this article, the author discusses his journey as primary school teacher and Association of Teachers of Mathematics (ATM) conference. Topics discussed include use of Cuisenaire rods and the Gattegno textbooks at Bursted Wood Primary school, "Mathematics and children" by Madeleine Goutard and relating numbers.
