Abstract
After skull-base closure (Figure 2F), the flap pedicle was passed into the maxillary sinus and through the anterior maxillotomy into a sub-buccinator tunnel to finally reach the facial recipient vessels in the neck (Figure 2D). This studyaims to evaluate the feasibility of the serratus anterior free flap (SAFF) for endoscopic reconstruction of large anterior skull-base defects or as a salvage option when locoregional closure fail due to previous surgery, radiotherapy, tumor involvement of the septum and septal perforation. Once the SAFF was harvested the SAFF and pedicle were passed carefully through the nose into the nasal cavity toward the skull base. [Extracted from the article]
