Abstract
Evaluates the experience of a major pediatric diabetes care service over a period of 15 years in respect of admissions for diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). Slight downward trend in the incidence of DKA over 15 years; Proportionate increase in the incidence of DKA among newly diagnosed patients with a proportionate decrease in the incidence of DKA seen in relapsers.
