This note reports on the radiocarbon dating of a barrow on the Isle of Wight. The new radiocarbon determination from a barrow on Newbarn Down (often referred to as Gallibury Down) was obtained as part of a wider project to improve understanding of the log coffin burial tradition in Bronze Age Britain (Brunning et al. forthcoming), with funding from a British Academy/Leverhulme small research grant. A new radiocarbon determination was obtained from the barrow, and the earlier dates recalibrated, thereby providing greater temporal resolution for the burial activity on the site.
