Abstract
The article discusses operative intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation (IABP) which is advantageous to preoperative. It also discusses various methods to analyze and gives results. It states that survival time were significantly better in patients with preoperative IABP therapy. It was concluded that there was a more liberal indication for IABP in high-risk patients before coronary bypass surgery.
