Examines the photofragmentation mass spectra of metal-fullerene clusters C[sub 60]M[sub x] and C[sub 70]M[sub x] (M={Fe, Co, Ni, Rh}; x=0,...,30). Account on reaction channel yielding clusters with the composition C59-2nM and C69-2nM (n=0,...,10); Replacement of a fullerene cage carbon atom by a transition metal atom; Description of the initial fragmentation step.
