Abstract
The article examines a research study on the applicability of relational-cultural theory in relation to the need for a wisdom discourse in nutrition counseling. The tensions experienced by dietitians as students and practitioners from control discourse constituting their professional selves are also explored. The impact of control and wisdom discourses on the positioning of concerns surrounding dietetic services is demonstrated.
