One of our patients who did not have ptosis on the side of Horner syndrome was known to have had a chronic and pre-existing ptosis of the contralateral eye and this may have minimized the clinical observation of a drooping of the eyelid on the side of Horner syndrome. This latter presentation of Horner syndrome is consistent with other series in the literature which report absence of ptosis in 10-12% of patients with Horner syndrome [[2]].
