Abstract
The article talks about the orf virus infection in humans. While orf commonly infects sheep and goats it can be transmitted to humans via exposure to an infected animal in household meat preparation, slaughter houses and livestock fairs. The article presents four cases of human orf, its diagnosis and treatments. Persons and communities exposed to these risks should have counseling on the use of nonpermeable gloves and proper hand hygiene.
