Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 46-year-old man who was taken to the emergency department due to sudden-onset right-sided visual loss. The patient underwent subsequent brain magnetic resonance imaging and an electrocardiogram which confirmed the diagnoses of patent foramen ovale (PFO) with bidirectional flow. Also discussed are the treatment of the patient with anticoagulant enoxaparin and warfarin, the increase in number of patients with PFO and its association with cryptogenic stroke.
