Abstract
Colvin I et al i .7 studied 40 patients who underwent 43 adrenalectomies with the use of ICG. In a case series of 10 robotic adrenalectomies, Sound I et al i .4 reported that ICG imaging was helpful in the conduct of the operation in eight of 10 cases. Indocyanine green (ICG) is a water-soluble molecule that binds albumin and allows identification of vascular and anatomical structures.1 ICG has recently become available for minimally invasive surgery, providing additional information regarding tissue perfusion, vascular structures and planes of dissection.2 The adrenal gland is an optimal target for the use of ICG because of its high vascularity.
