Abstract
The article discusses the use of the 70-gene classifier (GEP70) model to identify multiple myeloma patients with high risk for short progression-free and overall survival. The GEP70 model is based on the date of those enrolled in Total Therapy 2. All the genes identified in the study, such as ENO1, FABP5, and TRIP13, are involved in cell proliferation and survival in different cancers. Differences in the survival of treated patients among GEP70 low- and high-risk groups are noted.
