Abstract
The article reflects on a study conducted to analyse the physiologic demand pedalling on an electrically assisted bicycle (EAB) at different cycling speeds to confirm its potential as an alternate method to perform excercise. It states that the reduction of daily energy expenditure (EE) leads to modification in body composition associated with several diseases. It provides various methods used, including measurements, data analyses and statiscal analysis. It offers metabolic, mechanical and phychologic parameters. It suggests that the EAB could be particularly adopted to nonactive people and could be useful in rehabilitation programs.
