Abstract
The article discusses the research of the Kaletepe Deresi 3 (KD3) about the possibility of early human existence in and around Anatolia or Turkey throughout the Pleistocene epoch, through the recovered artifacts. The researchers have shown a range of evidence such as the Lower Paleolithic artifacts that may have existed from across the country during the period. The KD3 deposits are often either deeply buried or eroded away, exposing underlying rocks too ancient to contain traces of humans and their closest ancestors. It has appeared that the artifacts at KD3 are insufficiently old to provide evidence for the initial human presence in Anatolia which is about more than 1.8 million years ago.
