Abstract
This study continues the series of works aimed to evaluate non-metric dental characters in medieval and postmedieval human populations from eastern Romania. In this paper, the frequency and degree of expression of some non-metric traits was analysed in a sample of 115 permanent molars belonging to skeletons of 16th-17th centuries recovered from the archaeological site of Vovidenia Church, in Iasi city, Romania. 14 non-metric traits were followed, but only nine of them were identified and analysed. The lack of the y groove pattern and cusp 5 at the lower second molar were noticed. Also, deflecting wrinkle and enamel extensions represent new traits identified medieval dental materials from the studied area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
