Abstract
The article presents information regarding a study to evaluate the requirement of Smad4 protein for inducing digit ray primordia in order to initiate aggregation and differentiation of chondrogenic progenitors in mouse limb buds. It mentions that the Smad4 is a mediator of canonical signal transduction. It mentions that the Smad4 is required for initiating Sox9-positive digit ray primordia formation.
