Abstract
This article discusses the isolation and taxonomic identification of 46 eukaryotic phytoplankton strains from the tropical Pacific Ocean. The study aimed to address the lack of knowledge about the physiology and distribution patterns of open ocean eukaryotic phytoplankton. The isolates were grouped into five major photosynthetic groups and have been deposited into the NCMA culture collection for further study. The article highlights the importance of studying these phytoplankton in the context of expanding oligotrophic ocean gyres and global warming. The document provides a list of diatoms, including their identification codes, measurements, and taxonomic information. The diatoms listed include Thalassiosira oceanica, Thalassiosira diporocyclus, Thalassiosira, Cylindrotheca closterium, Fragilariopsis, Nitzschia traheaformis, Nitzschia, and Pseudo-nitzschia. The measurements provided include length and width, and the number of individuals measured is also given. The document is a valuable resource for researchers studying diatoms and their taxonomy. Another document provides a list of different types of microorganisms found in a specific location, including diatoms, stramenopiles, dinoflagellates, green algae, haptophytes, and coccolithophores. Each entry includes information such as the species name, sample location, and genetic code. This information can be useful for researchers studying [Extracted from the article]
