Abstract
The article focuses on the new transit pass tax credit of Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper targeting 13.5 million Canadians who may purchase transit pass based on a credit of 150 dollars. It cites the 2012 Department of Finance report on transit tax credit stating that transit use could reach of to 50% as individuals take into account the price reduction in their long-term decisions. It also notes the success of the Harper fitness tax credit program in 2011.
