Abstract
The open-label food challenge format was standardized to the ASCIA oral food challenge protocols.[2] Objective published criteria[3] were then used to assess the challenge outcome with anaphylaxis designated to reactions involving the respiratory and/or cardiovascular system. "Confirm allergy" indicates a child who has been identified as sensitized but not eaten the challenge food; "Confirm resolution" indicates a child who has a history of immediate reaction to the challenge food but is being assess for food allergy resolution. Clinical reaction was seen in 24% of patients challenged with anaphylaxis documented in 41 patients (15% of all those reacting and 3.6% of all challenges). [Extracted from the article]
