Abstract
The article offers information on the role of the librarians in helping patients or patrons identify best or bogus health information. It discusses the National Library of Medicine Symposium strategies addressing hospital and public libraries including strategies to assess community health-related needs; and describe ways to enhance individual and institutional competence in delivering consumer health information services.
