Abstract
The article presents an interview with Ted Wragg, emeritus professor of education at the Exeter University, England. He says that he loves small schools--when they are well run. They can be demanding places to work in, but they can combine the intimacy of their smallness with a real sense of achievement for teachers, who may find themselves teaching the children and grandchildren of former pupils.
