Abstract
The article discusses Artist-Blacksmiths' Association of North America (ABANA) conference held in Hereford, England in 1980. Topics discussed include revitalized community of American blacksmiths confronted with tradition, concerns on relation between architecture and blacksmithing, and work of art educator L. Brent Kington who founded metalwork program.
