Abstract
The article offers information on the Burkholderia pseudomallei, causative agent of melioidosis. It further discusses that the B. pseudomallei, detected in dead raccoon linked to multistate aromatherapy associated melioidosis outbreak; no evidence of environmental contamination by B. pseudomallei from the buried carcass; and also mentions about the samples tested for B. pseudomallei by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and cultured by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
