Abstract
The article describes the case of a 15-year old boy who suffered from non-fatal perineal impalement injury traversing pelvic, abdominal and thoracic cavities. The patient underwent anterior thoracotomy, pericardiotomy and laparotomy. Operative findings revealed laceration of the bladder, retropertitoneal rectal perforation and irrigated pelvic cavities. The patient recovered several days after the surgical procedures. Important steps should be taken in handling such impalement injuries.
