Abstract
The article presents a study regarding the prevalence of sexual risk behaviors and sexually transmitted diseases (STD) to patients with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). The study aims to determine and record the risk rate of SPMI patients to STI and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). In addition, the researchers observe and examine the sexual history of psychiatric patients to study on. They also present the prevalence rate of STDs such as neisseria gonorrhoeae, chlamydia trachomatis and trichomonas vaginalis.
