Abstract
called Robert Taiwanese, 20th century, male. Born 25 August 1935, in Taipei. Painter. Chen Cheng-Hsiung graduated from Chung-Hsing University in Taipei and completed his studies in the USA at the University of Maryland. He is regarded as a major contributor to the spread of contemporary art in Taipei, not least because of his role in promoting cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Japan. Chen Cheng-Hsiung serves on several international juries, and in 1982 he founded the Taiwan association of modern art, of which he is president. Chen’s work has featured at numerous group exhibitions in Taiwan and he has been a consistent exhibitor at annual exhibitions in Taiwan since the 1960s.
