Abstract
Staff members in a neonatal intensive care unit may be responsible for transmitting Pseudomonas aeruginosa to newborn babies. In one neonatal ICU, 49 babies became infected over a 20-month period, and in 17, the strain of bacteria was identical to one found on a health care worker.
