Abstract
The research aims to analyze, design, and implement a prototype system for recognizing the current occupancy of the parking lot using visual input from an unmanned aircraft. The experimental solution should also be able to detect, identify and recognize the vehicle registration number and store it in a database. The character recognition process itself is done sepa-rately from the vehicle park occupancy analysis. The recognized license plates are stored in a database, which keeps a record of occupancy at a given time. The technique for defining the area of interest was deployed with a subsequent analysis of the object in the area. The overall success of the applied method exceeded 95 %, which indicates the reliability of the implemented method.
