Abstract
The pressure hull is the most important structure of the submersible vehicle to resist hydrostatic pressure. When submersible vehicle carries out the floating and dive, it is subjected to various complex cyclic loads such as hydrostatic pressure load and machine vibration, which causes the pressure hull to generate fatigue problem. During the mission, it is very likely to suffer from underwater shock loads and damage to the structure. Therefore, in addition to its ability to withstand pressure, the pressure hull must also have the ability to resist Underwater Explosion (UNDEX). In this paper, ABAQUS and FE-SAFE finite element software are used to calculate the hydrostatic pressure load when submersible vehicle performs the task for the pressure hull structure, and the numerical simulation analysis of the underwater explosion in the Hull Shock Factor (HSF) at 0.6. The results showed that the lowest value of fatigue life of the pressure hull was 903 times before UNDEX and 4 times after UNDEX. The study found that the pressure hull of the submersible vehicle will cause fatigue life reduction after UNDEX. Therefore, the pressure hull structure of submersible vehicle should be considered as a design for the factors against UNDEX.
