An outbreak of enterovirus 71 infection in metropolitan Sydney: enhanced surveillance and lessons learnt.

Abstract
The article offers information on the results of enhanced surveillance in response to the outbreak of human enterovirus 71 (EV71) infection in Sydney, New South Wales. The analysis includes both confirmed and suspected EV71 cases. It shows that the epidemic occurred from December 2012 to may 2013 and 119 children with the diseases were reported.
