Abstract
The article provides information on the psoas bladder-hitch and Boari flap techniques of ureteroneocystostomy. Three main advantages of the psoas hitch procedure for a complex ureteroneocystostomy are cited, including formation of an adequate submucosal tunnel to prevent vesicoureteral reflux (VUR). It notes the development of the Boari surgical technique to bridge lesions of the distal ureter originating from surgical interventions or tuberculosis.
