Abstract
The article discusses how the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) fine tunes its Emergency Preparedness and Response Program to protect its workers from hazardous conditions when responding to public health emergencies. Topics discussed include NIOSH's Emergency Responder Health Monitoring and Surveillance training courses to protect workers in all phases of emergency responses. Also mentioned is NIOSH's safety training modules for first responders.
